For me some things in the kitchen installation world make no sense whatsoever, take the example below with this extractor from a large DIY company. The first picture shows the extractor packed away in the box as it is supplied, once out of the box and its plastic & polystyrene packing your attention is drawn to an advisory notice on the unit itself, warning that pulling on the frame whilst removing the extractor from the box can cause damage. Surely this notice would be better served if it was visible before removing the extractor from the box????

At Phoenix Joinery we are striving to do our bit for the environment, being a joinery company we go through lots of timber, so it is important to us that we care about its origin and sustainability.
So what are we doing about it?
- We pledge to plant a tree for each kitchen we supply and fit.
- We are proud to ‘Sponsor an acre‘ through Sky and the WWF, our money will help Sky and WWF protect the forest by tackling deforestation. They will do this by working with local communities to look after their forests, encouraging them to conserve trees, rather than chop them down.
- We actively seek suppliers who use materials from sustainable renewable resources that are produced in a socially responsible way.
- We are currently looking at realistic ways of reducing the amount of waste materials from site going to landfill and recycling as much as possible.
- We email our quotes and invoices when possible giving the customer the option to print them off or keep them on their computer to save paper.

I have been neglecting the Blog a little of late, mainly due to an explosion in work since Christmas as a result of our successful Ad Campaign, as well as being busy pricing and actually carrying out kitchen installations I have been busy carrying out work behind the scenes to the website , I am hoping the new additions will be unveiled at the end of April.
I also have a few additions in mind for the Blog and will try and implement these at the same time with the help of a few local companies.
I’ll be back soon with a few more pics added to the gallery
